Lake Tear of the Clouds and Mount Marcy

By foo.barstein

The Adirondack hike continued for several days through forest until Lake Tear of the Clouds was reached—the source of the Hudson River and at the foot of Mount Marcy, the highest point in New York State. Mount Marcy was ascended the following day, but the summit was in the clouds and gave no view. The descent led to the road, a bus to Albany, and the train back to Croton-Harmon and Ossining.
