Novy Afon got the famous Shell: multi-speckled, multi-humped, and apparently controversial from the moment it appeared. Locals interviewed years later remembered people calling it too Western, too strange, too far from what Soviet public space was supposed to look like. That reaction is half the fun now; the stop is a little blast of artistic disobedience parked by the road.
