A statue dedicated to a man who never lived in the town that took his name, never visited it, and had no connection whatsoever to it. But Jim Thorpe seems to have been a real character This monument is on the other side of the river from the main attractions of Jim Thorpe, PA (the historic railroad and cute shops). But one must pay homage to the man when in his namesake town.
