A point near the former mouth of Minetta Brook, where a neighborhood of theaters, apartments, and cafes sits over a waterway that once ran freely enough to merit its own drainage story. The brook is now hidden, but its ghost survives in the topography and in the odd feeling that the street is quietly sliding downhill toward history.
