A lesser-known feeder associated with the old Minetta drainage system. The area once carried water toward the Hudson through low ground that has long since been built over, but the valley shape still hints at a stream that preferred the path of least resistance. Modern sidewalks now occupy what was once the brook’s argumentative little detour.
