This mural corridor in Aguazarca, Calnali, is far from the usual global street-art circuit, which is part of its charm. CICHAZ describes a one-kilometer stretch of homes and small establishments painted in 2018 by muralists from South America and Mexico during the area's first international muralismo event. The works honor local culture and natural history, so the road functions at once as neighborhood gallery, ecological storytelling device, and gateway into the Sierra Huasteca's traditional villages. It has the feeling of a place where muralism is not branding but exchange—art arriving through collaboration and settling into everyday mountain-town life.
