Mill Tower "Mühleturm"

By hello

The former silo tower at Chur's Mühleturm has been used as a vertical canvas since 2018 and is promoted as the largest mural painting in Switzerland. What makes it especially compelling is that it is not fixed to a single image: the tower is periodically repainted, turning a piece of industrial infrastructure into an evolving civic landmark. The current mural, The Guardian of the Three Leagues, shows a blindfolded female figure holding three lights, with corn symbolizing migration, cultural diversity, and the fruits of shared development. In a mountain city better known for scenery than wall painting, the tower gives public art the scale of a lookout and the seriousness of a public statement. (graubuenden.ch)
