Ashland Mill remains

The Ashland Mill, built around 1715 operated for nearly 230 years. Therr is a visitors' and nature center snd other old snuff mill remains nearby. Today, visitors can see: The millrace (the channel built to turn the water wheel), which is still evident and now forms a long, skinny pond used for educational purposes by the Delaware Nature Society. The original stone mill dam built in the early 1700s, later modernized with concrete. Historic houses associated with the mill, including a circa 1720 stone house and an 1837 brick house, which still stand near the site.
