The name Lugovoye in Tomsk region was given by surviving family members, but its exact location is not known. Viktor Petrovich Titov was born in 1927 in a village named Lugovoye in Tomsk Oblast, Russia, where the family lived. Yekaterina (Katya) Afanasievna Titova (possible maiden name Chupina / чупина, according to her daughter Klaudia) may have been born in Perm, Russia, although her maiden name and hometown are not reliably known. It is reputed that Katya's family had been displaced by Stalin due to their middle-class status. Middle-class was defined as anyone who owned a cow and/or utensils for eating. Viktor Petrovich and Yekaterina Afanasievna married and had two children in the Tomsk region: Yevgeniy (born 1951) and Anna Yablonovskaya (born 1956). They later moved to Almaty, Kazakhstan, where they had two more children: Polina and Sergey.
